There is too much textiles in the world, that is no news. This project aims to make a statement ; the piece is the result of in-depth material experimentation with the goal to find ways on how to utilize the ever growing mass of discarded textiles. Specifically the less attractive mixed fibers of post-consumer textiles. How can these materials stay part of our lives instead of ending up in a landfill or being burned?According to the CBS in the Netherlands there is an equivalent of half this piece of textiles per person in the country. What if we all had a couch like this?
